After work on Friday, I picked up Cathy and Kristi from home and then headed to Adrian’s house. We were running late since I stayed 50 minutes after work listening to my supervisor tell a bunch of random stories. Luckily, Adrian was able to pick Teresa up from the Bart station, so everyone was safe! Woo!
We ended up checking into our hotel around 1100PM. We got sorted into La Quinta Inn through our Hotwire purchase and it turned out to be a pretty good location for the money! After dropping our stuff off in our room, we headed back out to Snowflake for some late night dessert. After a super long wait for a seat, we finally got seated within 20 minutes before closing.
We ordered the blueberry snow, which isn’t on the menu yet as they were having customers try out the flavor first. It was pretty delicious! I also got my milk tea served in a cute little jar. 🙂
We ended the night just chilling in our hotel room playing Candy Crush. Ha! 😛
The next morning, Adrian managed to wake me up around 0700AM and we went downstairs for the free breakfast the hotel offered.
After breakfast, we went back to sleep and woke up again around noon. After everyone got ready, we headed to Newpark Mall to try to find Adrian a last minute outfit and Cathy a pair of red shorts to wear to Beyond. Adrian and I got distracted by a store called Salt Tree that I absolutely fell in love with! I ended up leaving the shop with three new jackets and a tank that I totally was not supposed to buy. :X Sadly (or fortunately for my wallet!), we found out they only have one location. Boo!
We went back to our hotel and got dressed. We ended up heading to Shoreline Ampitheatre around 5PM. We took photos and then pre-gamed in the car. Though I don’t typically drink, I decided to join in on the festivities.
As the sun started to set, Beyond truly came alive.
We stumbled upon the kandi shop sometime during the night. When we heard we could make kandi for FREE, we were ecstatic! Adrian loved it so much that he decided to take some home with him. Hahah!
Above the kandi shop, we had a view of some very expressive dancers.
One of the areas I enjoyed walking through were the trees with the colorful lanterns. So beautiful!
And, of course, the super cool laser lights never ceases to amaze me!
Before we left, I happened to see my sponsoree Cory! It was awesome running into him by chance since finding people at Beyond was so difficult. Adrian, Cathy, Kristi, Teresa, and I ended up leaving around 1030PM in an attempt to skip out on traffic. We went to eat at Denny’s for our late night dinner.
The next day, Adrian, Cathy, and I went to get breakfast around 0800AM. Cathy and I went back to sleep afterwards as Adrian stayed up making kandi bracelets. When we finally all woke up, we all made kandi bracelets!
We ended up eating at Country Way for brunch. Yeah, we had a LOT of breakfast over the weekend.
We stayed at Teresa’s cousins house for a bit to kill some time. We finished getting ready for Beyond and made even more kandi bracelets! I made one for Adrian, Cathy, Kristi, and Teresa. 🙂
Day 2 of Beyond seemed a bit more crowded. We actually had to wait in a line to park as opposed to the first day. After the group pre-gamed, we finally headed in to enjoy the last bit of our Beyond experience.
The group decided to dress a little more casual for day 2.
I finally got to meet up with my sponsor Gary who I haven’t seen in like two years! We tried to meet up the day before, but it didn’t work out at all. I was so happy we managed to find each other!
Adrian and I finally got a photo together later on in the night!
Day 2 was pretty much like day 1 but with different artists. Adrian had a blast trading kandi bracelets all night though, so I was quite entertained by that. At one point, he introduced himself as “Rick” because someone gave him a kandi bracelet that had “Rick” on it. 😛
Did I mention we got to see fireworks all night long? Every time they went off, the crowd would cheer. Woo!
There was a Moto X booth where we got to take photos and have them printed out on the spot. Pretty neat! I wonder if the camera quality is the same as the phone’s camera quality. 😛
Overall, Beyond Wonderland was definitely a lot of fun and worth the money. (Thank goodness we got early bird tickets!) The weekend ended a bit too soon! But, now we just have to wait a couple more weeks until we attend our next rave. 😛
