Cathy and I headed to Davis around 1130AM. We picked up Alex and met up with Kristi at Lee’s Deli. I was craving for a Vietnamese sandwich, but was surprised to see how Americanized the shop was. (I actually expected it, but it turned out to be more Americanized than I thought.) Their menu only had 3 Vietnamese sandwiches! 😦 The sandwich itself was alright, but I really went to Lee’s to try out one of their cronots. First bite and the cronot wasn’t as mind blowing as I had expected (darn my expectations!), but it still tasted yummy nonetheless!
At 0100PM, we headed downtown to do community service! It was really random, but I had the urge to do service again after talking to a friend. I found a service event through the IPhi website titled “Art Bombing Davis!” that sounded pretty neat. The purpose of the event was to spread school spirit for the homecoming football game happening next week through painting local businesses’ windows. I somehow managed to get Alex and Kristi to join me. We volunteered Cathy too since she was going to be with us anyways, but she had no idea until after we signed up. 😛
So, we were actually afraid we would have to draw our own designs. (Just in case, Cathy, Kristi, and I agreed it would be Alex who did the drawing and we could do the painting in.) Luckily, there was an artist that drew out a design for us to paint. We got to paint on the windows of CREAM. (My first time there and I painted on their windows. Ha! :P)
It felt like we were painting a life size coloring book. It turned out to be a ton of fun and the results were pretty awesome! We spent about 2 hours completing the piece.
Kristi and Cathy got a little playful.
Once we painted in the bulk of the image, the artist added the little details.
The end results were pretty darn awesome!
Since we were at CREAM anyways, I figured it was a good time for me to finally try their ice cream sandwiches! The ice cream was good. The cookies started off soft and warm, but hardened after a short while. Apparently the Berkeley location is a lot better, so I’ll have to try that location someday.
After the service event, Alex, Cathy, Kristi, and I went to Teabo for some boba.
We then headed back to Alex’s apartment to relax. I totally KOed for a good amount of time while the rest of them played Taboo. I joined them after I woke up from my nap. I think the game went on until nearly 0700PM, which was when Alex left for his dinner plans.
Cathy, Kristi, and I ended up heading to Woodland. We went to Michaels to window shop for potential Spookfest outfit items, which I seriously need to figure out soon! Then we went to Best Buy and Target to Shopkick before our phone batteries died on us. It was like a race against the clock trying to get our scans in! 😛
For dinner, we decided to eat at Red Robin since Cathy had never been there before.
We ended the night watching Halloweentown since we were in the Halloween mood. We were stunned to find out that Alex had never watch the movie as a kid! Watching it again now, we found the graphics hilarious. Some things were questionable, but the movie was still a good watch. 🙂
